a brief update after some more testing, in case someone is interested: ligatures work like a charm on a MacBook Pro / El Capitan / LO 5.1.4.2 No way under Win 10 / LO 5.1.4 (latest version downloaded), BUT... it works in notepad!... I'm surprised you tisimst use them with LO/Win8 .. maybe is related...

well... after a fresh install on a Mac Book, LO correctly translates the 'b13' ligature... then the font file is ok

ok, the OSC file has been installed, but the ligature in LO still seems not working...
maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I expected that the 'b13' glyph appeared after pressing 'b','1','3' ...

the backward shift is made on purpose. In the font the only char that have a fixed width are the frets and some space chars. All the symbols have 0 length and are shifted on the left so that you can overlap one on another, on the same preceding fret. This way you can e.g. write a crossed note name i...
