Re: Fermata
It looks theoretically impossible to me. I mean, mathematically impossible.

Re: Now @mentions are available

Re: Affinity Suite version 2
Loving the open-source projects and software, I have also tried Scribus but it was painful.
Since Adobe has created that monster-sized suite of apps, I have moved all my documents to Affinity Publisher (thanks to @benwiggy mentioning a few years ago) and I am so happy whit it.

Re: How crowded a SSATB score should be?
I have seen even hairpins placed on the staves, when angled. Can't remember now what score it was.Schonbergian wrote: ↑28 Jun 2023, 16:15 Older scores would often place the dynamics on the stave to solve this sort of issue. I believe it is a very favourable solution.

Re: The best software for clearing up (notation) a freely performed MIDI
This is a solution: 1. In Logic Pro X, where all music was composed as an improvisation @ tempo 120, time signature 4/4, I have created an additional midi track with "claves" sound, as a metronome. At this track I have recorded beats, in other words: I have followed the music as a conducto...

Re: First post: Rookie learning slurs with Scriabin
They are nice, particularly in the second example.
For my taste, I like when the slurs are more symmetrical when possible, and when they have the same shoulder when possible.
Also I prefer lifting the end (tip) over changing the shape.

Re: Grand staff hairpins/dynamics w/ cross-staff beaming
I have seen hairpins crossing the staves in a crowded score, try that.

Re: The best software for clearing up (notation) a freely performed MIDI
In your example, the B3 note seems to have a small "ritard." (let us assume so!). Can you click on the first C4 note (looks like a tuplet C-B-C) and put the barline there, and consequently click on A3 and choose "the second beat", so that the tempo changes in order to correspond ...

The best software for clearing up (notation) a freely performed MIDI
I hope that future advancements in AI will make easier the process of notating improvised music, particularly in genres like jazz that heavily rely on improvisation. Personally, I do not have any difficulties when transcribing entirely freely improvised music recorded as MIDI, unfortunately it takes...

Re: Dorico 5 released
Dorico does something called "slices", which are whatever you choose from the score page to export as a graphic. Is that what you're asking about? there are multiple choices of output file to choose from. Can you export one measure as SVG, and when opened in a vector editor it is the size...
