Re: Finale update

I still struggle with collisions with Expressions (and Smart shapes). How many times do you need to re-move "p < f"?
And when you transpose an instrument, it gets messy again.
Tremolo should be fixed 10 years ago. I don't think it is a feature.

I am a bit ambivalent about this version.

Re: Automatic Staff/System Spacing

Hello.
Does this work to fix:
- lyrics
- stave distances?

Also, is it available for Mac, and how can it be downloaded?

Repetition line

Reading E Gould's book about newer techniques, Chapter 20 "Freedom and choice" (p607), she speaks about wavy and straight lines to indicate a free repetition. However, I am not sure exactly what is difference between these two. I use also a dashed straight line. My setup is like that: Wavy = repetit...

Re: Piano - trills-question

Thanks John, I appreciate your answer very much. About the tremolo: later on the principal trill notes will be of shorter values and diverse rhythms, resulting in a more complex picture of tremolos, therefore I've chosen tr instead. Also I have chosen stems to be "intendedly" connecting; also becaus...

Piano - trills-question

Pianists-engraver and all other friends, is this the correct way of notating?
Should notes be mixed into one stave?
Should :tr be placed always above?

Are you sure there isn't a font for this already? A quick Google search shows several different families of Woodwind fingering fonts.
Oh, yes, there are such indeed!
Thank you, I will explore it.

Re: From png to font type

Sounds good, thank you.

I don't have any complete list yet. Perhaps I have to wait when I have all these pictures ready to make the font.

Another thing what I find awkward is to find the correct size of the symbol, so that all symbols (graphics) are of the same size and sharpness.

From png to font type

Hello experienced font designers. I want to insert multiphonics into the Finale score, however, inserting as pictures seems to be a bit awkward. Now I am thinking to make symbols for each multiphonic so that they can be typed as Expression. What is the best way (perhaps the quickest) to use a png pi...

Here is for flute:

EDIT:
I have found this, wonderful:
https://fingering.bretpimentel.com/#!/flute/
Edit2: unfortunately impossible to notate open holes, nor trill tones.

Online tool for woodwind fingerings

Friends, Is there any online tool that would be of easy use: for instance an empty flute chart that can be edited and than exported (even a screenshot), than imported into Finale? I know there are multiphonic fingering - fonts, but it is to much for me for adjusting, the easier way would be just cli...
