Re: A modern looking score in 2018?

Simply said, a good serif font is in a harmony with musical environment. That being said, the unanswered question is, does such a “sans serif” design exist for music that maintains that cohesiveness with a nice sans serif text font? I am not sure if any quality sans-serif musical font does exist (y...

Re: A modern looking score in 2018?

Agree completely with odod, John and David. Again concerning sans serif: it is true that sans serif is used for, for instance, road signs or naming pharmaceuticals. It is because they are like informational objects that need a high attention, which differs from the rest of the environment. So sans i...

Re: A modern looking score in 2018?

Welcome to the forum! Indeed many interesting questions you propose, and it is more than easy to answer. If there was an easy and simply solution, we would have many great scores and great engravers; it is indeed hard to achieve the "ideal". Yes, the fonts developed, but what I can notice, all impro...

Re: [puzzle] Two voices in one staff

You both have the same clef, but in different software. Looks like old SCORE (or Vienna, Wolfgang, Scorlatti), what is yours?

Schneider, do you break the tie directly in LP?

Or with a down tie :
Looks nice. I would perhaps put the slur above.
What is the software?

Re: Dorico Pro 2 released

I still feel like the "Sibelius"-style slurs and ties curve too much near the ends. LP has the same issue by default, albeit a bit less pronounced. Yes, that is what I distaste about Sibelius. That one and the g clef. My first two things I change in Sibelius. LP has the same issue by default , albe...

Re: Dorico Pro 2 released

However, from my assessment, I see no reason why I should not do all my work in Dorico from now on. Given the the time I saved on all the manual adjustments which Finale would have required, I don't feel so bad about doing a couple here and there in Dorico. For what you do, it looks that it would s...

Re: Dorico Pro 2 released

Thanks benwiggy for your example. Looks good as not so much edited! Some concerns about the ligature shapes (ties and slurs). They don't look well imo, as it is case with the Sibelius default. Some tie-settings need a crucial improvement, Screen Shot 2018-06-12 at 13.00.17.png Screen Shot 2018-06-12...

Lots (and lots) of talk about scores, but I've yet to see any part samples coming from this product. Anyone using it care to share?
Yes, good idea.
People use to say that "the result is wonderful" - what is meant by that? In comparison to Finale or Sibelius.
