Re: Dorico sample.

Looking lovely! Well done! :) I'm currently typesetting a piano duet of Gershwin's An American in Paris... It's over 670 bars and I am producing it all in Dorico. Some of the things, such as pedal lines etc. I'm just having to leave out for now, and will add them as soon as they appear in the softwa...

Re: Dorico

Dorico update 1.0.10 is here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlHULHibW9c Here's what the info on the video says: The Dorico team in London and in Hamburg have been both working hard on the first update for Dorico over the past six weeks, and we are very proud to release the first maintenance update...

Re: Let's talk Manuscript Paper, Pens and other copying materials

Hey guys, I've broadened the topic of this thread a little. I'm interested in seeing what pens and other copying materials you guys use? For neat handwritten copying of scores/parts, I tend to use my Rotring Rapidograph set, which are really nice and fine for bar lines, stems etc. Have any of you us...

Re: Software recognition, by eye

Indeed, some of them do look manually engraved. I wondered though how the most recent ones are done, for example, the new instrumental exam books of 2017-2018. Surely in 2016, they are not still manually engraving their music?! :-O

Re: Software recognition, by eye

That's interesting, thank you! I used to use Sibelius to typeset all of my scores but it wasn't until the last year or so I started to become really interested in all the engraving side of it! As a result, I regard myself pretty proficient in Sibelius, or at least proficient enough to either achieve...

Re: Software recognition, by eye

Do you think any of these have advantages over the current versions of Lilypond, Sibelius, Finale, Dorico etc. Do any of these still not do things that SCORE and Graphire can do? Another style of engraving I always think looks rather neat is ABRSM's exam books. Are you familiar with them and what pr...

Re: Software recognition, by eye

Wow, interesting! Never heard of it? How does it perform compared to Sibelius, Finale, Dorico? Can't seem to find any sort of demonstration of it online, similarly to SCORE.

Re: Software recognition, by eye

Alright folks, another one for you sharp-eyed engravers.

Because this was engraved in c.1998 by Schott, am I right, due to the previous comments, to presume this is a Finale job again?

Cheers!
