Hello, just wondering if the augmentation dots in the upper staff are ok with the default Finale placement, or I should move them to the left, and extend the tie as well. What do you think?

Re: Distance between piano staves
I just read this thread. I fully agree with John. Just in case it helps, in Finale I use a default distance of 240 EPVU between piano staves, that's one space less that the default distance the program has. That comfortably gives me six systems per page. If more space is needed, I would add space in...

Re: Grand staff hairpins/dynamics w/ cross-staff beaming
I meant stems, ok, the hairpins do cross them, but are cut so lines don't intersect.

Just in case it helps, when placing hairpins I never cross stems.

Fermata
I wonder if in the image attached the fermata placement for the piano part conveys a different musical meaning, as opposed to the (more standard) fermata in the voice staff... any thoughts?

Re: O/T bariolage question
Those brackets just show that if the second note is to be played in A string, there would be a string jump from the G string. As written, the second note is played in the D string. And yes, at the end is the octave harmonic, should be a little circle. P.S. only after sending the post I saw it was fr...

Re: O/T bariolage question
Interesting... It is playable, as long as you stay in the D string, but if you wish the A string to be used there will be some jumps that may obscure the bariolage effect. I put a bracket to show where. But, you could also reverse this, playing the stopped note first, then the open and go to A strin...

half-dashed slurs
Hi, for a critical edition I need to draw a slur that goes "normal" over a few notes, but editorial and dashed for the last two. Is there a way for this in Finale 25 (Mac)? I'd rather not use a regular slur and then a dashed slur over all the notes.

Re: Dorico cross-grade promotion
I went for the promotion!
Now I'm diving into Dorico's menus and options (never got the time to try the demo)
But figured bass... couldn't miss it
