I think the OP meant to write in string numbers (III, II - eg. sul D, sul G) rather than fingerings, but it seems not idiomatic all the same.

And, they'll play it however they deem most comfortable, regardless. I would venture to guess that the awkward string crossings you want are rather uncomfortable.

Well, you could change the quarter note to an eighth note and an eighth note rest plus add the direction "secco". There are also various articulations you could use, however, you need to be careful they don't encourage the player to play louder than p (unless that's what you want). I suppo...
