Re: Divisi double stops - Brahms
The reason is voicing. The whole notes are having invisible stems. The voice 2 is down-stemed placed on the right. I would probably have written that on two separate staves … In any case a large symphony orchestra's 2nd violin section of 12 or 14 players might avoid double stopping altogether and pr...

Re: Font feedback
That is excellent!
However I would run italics one point larger than roman in your example.
Good job, and I am looking forward to see it in vivo.

Re: Font feedback
I like the new version much more. I would add also some very slight boldness, but that is my taste.
From the picture above your is musically the most beautiful! Great, Knut!
BTW; what is the last font?

Re: Font feedback
Can you make a test, by looking at this picture from 2m distance? I feel that the italic is smaller than roman. Look here: Untitled.png Sul tasto is very large in comparing with molto espressivo. MAYBE: to add more space between the letters in the italic version. I feel they are a bit cramped. Also,...

Re: Abjad 2.19 released
Yes, indeed MJCube. I did the same. Interesting observation about the empty bars! I might try use this in my scores to see how it works. BTW; have you noticed the stem lengths, seem to be longer than octave. Whoever made this score must be proud of - please send this to Boosey, Peters (etc) for insp...

Re: Font feedback
Lovely! One thing you might consider: in your music example the Roman and Italic style don't appear to have same weight. I would compensate the Italic style by being taller, also, in music as it is with your "f molto espressivo" - I tend to have larger texting, if your is 12 pt, than try 1...

Re: Choral divided writing
Thank you friends.
I have now an additional question: I have SATB in separate staves. Altos get divided in 3 - but the rhythm is completely the same (mixtures). How to do that?

Re: Fonts for Lyrics
One other thing to remember is that Finale reduces the lyric size along with the staff reduction. A 16pt lyric on a 75% staff size will appear as 12pt, unless you set a Fixed size for your font. And of course some fonts appear smaller than others at the same point size. Good to know. Bulmer MT Disp...

Re: Let's talk Manuscript Paper
Do any of you guys print your own manuscript from software like Sibelius or Finale? What paper do you use and what do you think of it? I do. Important: do not print on white paper. It is painful for your eyes. (My dyslectic colleague has revealed that when he changed from white to colored, he could...
