Re: Notational curiosity?

Dear John, I think that fermata has one distinction over slur (as you have done it with slur) is that the tip is more "fat", if you understand what I mean, also fermata is more round (as 1/2 of a circle). Since this one is very unconventional symbol, as a performer I would be in doubt, but guessing ...

Re: Muzitex - for music text

In my opinion Plantin is to wide, for my music it is ineffective. Particularly it is true for the Roman version. Regarding Muzitex : I have printed (hi-q print by Peters/Boosey/Schott printer) my orchestral score (with many details, small texts, instructions etc), and it displays really excellent. I...

I changed some spacing.
Please, swap it with the old one, and try to print.

Re: Dense page

I have never seen the large flat-headed comma-like symbols, one of which cuts through an arpeggio symbol and I have no idea what they mean. Some kind of wild gliss.? That seems to be pretty unique, I have never seen it in other scores. I played it as an extreme portamento, enforced. You have to pla...

Re: Muzitex - for music text

Hi Octo, Just off the top of my head, here are a few I've seen used for music that haven't been mentioned yet, just in order that I thought of them with Times at the top for comparison purposes. Very nice. Is any of these your favorite? I have too used Warnock. I still have impression that calligra...

Re: Notational curiosity?

Hmm.. Why are :3 in the third measure separated, and again in the fourth measure not?

Re: Dense page

Anyone wants to guess what is the rhythm that is played by piano? I have no idea, but it is indeed a very beautiful piece! As far as I remember, it is a quintuplet of :2 that starts with :2r : |----5----| :2r :2 :2 :2 :2 I think that Enesco wanted to create, or better to say, to notate improvisatio...

Re: Dense page

were all those small cues necessary? Were they helpful, worth all the trouble of squeezing them in? Would the violin part have been usable also without them? This piece is one of the most difficult to play together (I haven't played some Ferneyhough, though!), and I can say, not 100% necessary to h...
