Re: Inkscape crashing
It's not free or open source, but if you're using a Mac, an excellent and inexpensive alternative to Adobe Illustrator is Affinity Designer... I would recommend both as high-quality, high-performance illustration and photo editing tools... Indeed, Daniel, It is very affordable software and most imp...

Re: Font collections
Here I will try to help first in direction of understanding how the scaling works and thus any attempt will never struggle with the need to compensate the size utilising different point sizes. First of all – in most cases the font apps "propose" by default 1000 units per bounding box for a...

Re: Font collections
CorelDraw is just a professional alternative to Illustrator, isn't it? As such it is considered a 'high powered' tool, I think. It is absolutely right. Nowadays I have no idea how this application works,b because for more than 15 y.a. when I was using a PC this was the most demanding and "must...

Re: [MuseScore] Anyone use it?
Most of the application perform almost the same things — notes, rest, tuplest articulation, dynamics and text. However, the options to compose and precisely to import vector graphics are the milestone IMO. From MAC-WIN programs only Finale does this and unfortunately with lots of compromises. Sibeli...

Re: Clef design comparision
Yes, it is plate engraved, but not common style for Henle.Knut wrote:Wess,
My guess is that yours is a kind of special edition, reprinted in 2007, but engraved much earlier.
Possibly, as you guess, reprinted compilation.

Re: Clef design comparision
Knut, you are definitely right about the "usual" and distinctive G-lef utilised by Henle. Here are comparative picture of 3 Clefs – from 1998, 2001 those seen on Henle site and my version of it from this winter (2015). The last one was generated by tracing image's shapes (source: 1981, Men...

Re: Clef design comparision
As I promised last night:Knut wrote:Really! I can see that based on the modest thickness of the strokes. Is this the clef from their old house style?
Here is the information:
This G-clef might be found in
:
A:
2007 – Bach, Das Wohltemperierte Klavier
B:
1983 – Some works from Schubert

Re: Clef design comparision
Knut,
I will check tomorrow the year and the composition. My suspicious are that it was from some piano work.
It might turn out to be from some late 70, even 90. But I need to open my archives and to find it.
Till tomorrow!
Best regards,
Wess

Unbelievable, but it's Henle.
