Re: SMuFL font comparision
The thing that sticks out to me the most is the appearance of the relative size of the half notehead versus the quarter notehead. Even though I know some half noteheads are exactly the same size as the quarter notehead, they all feel smaller, which doesn’t seem right to me. It’s an unusual circumsta...

Re: Alternatives to Adobe Creative Cloud
Inkscape 1.2 now has multi-page support. This allows you to import/export an entire PDF or a single page. It’s not perfect, but definitely a good and much needed step for the app.

Re: Flat beam question
Convex vs concave doesn't matter much to me. The group is *trending* downward, so I'd slant the beam downward, at least a little. Doesn't really matter what happens in the middle. Here's what my brain sees: beam-group-showing-trend.png This doesn't mean that I'd slope it that much, but *something*.

Re: Flat beam question
I wouldn’t use a flat beam. I’ve always been in the camp that the beam should trend (i.e., slant) with the trend of the notes. The level of slant is debatable, but I would do *something* since it gives the eyes a cue of what the notes are *generally* doing so I can anticipate it. This is very import...

How on earth did the graphics person not ask a musically inclined person if it looked "right" or not? My brain hurts... thanks a lot, Fred

Re: Dorico slurs and beams
Fred, that’s a rather unsavory discovery. There was always something that didn’t quite look right to me and I think this must have been it. The curve shoulders visually always stuck out just a little bit more.
