Re: OTF in Finale, and problems

Ok, I have discovered one important thing with Glyphs Mini, concerning Finale. Finale cannot see generated fonts if there are not separators: space, nbspace, CR, .notdef, .null I don't know if all need to be there, but at least I have got a test font that can be seen from Finale. I am quite disappoi...

Re: OTF in Finale, and problems

Ah that is bad, I wasted 45 €...
I might continue with FF, and find solution there.

To anyone using FF: if you have a sfd file that is generating fonts fully working with Finale, I would be more than happy if you could attach an empty template.

Re: OTF in Finale, and problems

Here are attached screenshots from FF, one that shows doubled symbols (example is selected "A"), and another is glyph's property.

Regarding Glyphs Mini: I have tried to find options, for instance encoding, but there are really nowhere that options. There is a demo version too.

Re: OTF in Finale, and problems

I see, Abraham.
I have opened Maestro.suit, that's what I have on my system. And there are duplicates, when I am back home I will post a picture.

Maybe I should use the postscript version? Is ps the same for OS X and Win?

Re: OTF in Finale, and problems

Thanks Knut. I purchased Glyphs Mini in hope to easily create symbols for my needs. It seems I wasted money since there are no settings for such things. I used FontForge but now it is very unstable, takes time to load and so on. Back to the subject I now wonder why does Finale look at position 207 b...

Re: Dorico Diary No14

And this is my letter to Daniel Spreadbury, dating 17 Sept. 2014; numerous ideas, here No 4: 4. Document container. Each document has its own fonts, sizes etc. It could be great to have something what we have in InDesign: a document container. There could we have separate movements, or separate part...

Dorico Diary No14

http://blog.steinberg.net/2016/06/development-diary-part-14/ Very interesting, this InDesign style of layout is IMO one of the ground breaking tools. I have been using ID for a very long time at the final stage prior to sending PDF to my printer. ID is absolutely astonishing application, but if thi...

Re: OTF in Finale, and problems

It is very strange. Here is a screenshot from Glyphs, clearly the notehead is œ, unicode 0153: shot 5.png In Finale the normal Maestro shows as well œ symbol at place 207: shot 4.png But when I change to my edited Maestro the œ symbol remains the same notehead, but the symbols get to fff, choosing l...

OTF in Finale, and problems

Hi. I have purchased Glyphs Mini to be able to adjust some of fonts for my need. When I edited Maestro, and saved it as another font, I get many symbols messed up, so instead of :4 -notehead I get fff Anyone using Glyphs Mini, and how to adjust fonts to be compatible with Finale? Does OTF work? I ha...
