Re: How many slashes for unmeasured tremolos (including beamed)?
Somewhat OT, but rather strangely I can view your .tiff file in Safari, but not in (latest) Firefox, which I use by default. This also applies to your recent .tiff in another thread here, and with two different Mac OS. I get the same experience using Opera. Odd... If anyone knows what I've done wro...

Long discussion!:Knut wrote:Huh, that's interesting!
I wonder why the dot forces the music not to respace. Something they might be working on, perhaps?

YES!! Bravo for clarification!erelievonen wrote:That should not be understood as a staccato dot, because a properly placed staccato dot would have to be placed on the stem side in this situation.

Re: How many slashes for unmeasured tremolos (including beamed)?
Sorry to bring this thread up again, but I have to ask since I'm pretty sure the tremoli in the Violin/Viola sections, top system, are intended to be played at the same repetitions regardless of the note's duration, but is the tremolo notation correct? Should they always have 4 tremolo slashes or s...

Re: Brahms Op. 119, No. 1
I have attached an engraving of the Brahms intermezzo, which is in the style of a critical edition. Beautifully done, John! Your and Knut's edition is very close each other for my eyes... Some thoughts: 1. I would like to avoid Maestro, particularly flags and rests. 2. Sizes and margines: somehow K...

I think the best notation is the technical one. Just write it as a computer should perform by the given instruction and the musicians will do similarly.

MuseScore2 - some thoughts
As a hardcore Finale user, I am really impressed by some things in MuseScore2. Finale and Sibelius users: it is really worth to try. Personally, I am not so dependent of the sound library, I need it just for engraving, so MS2 is fine for that purpose. The greatest thing I discovered in MS2 is that y...
