Re: Dorico 5.1.30 update

Yes, I similarly made two posts about problems that were addressed within a week -- Selecting the whole Flow and Resetting Appearance/Position is much faster; and a bug affecting Elision slurs on lyrics was fixed. If you use the SE or Elements version, and click on the "padlocked" menu com...

Dorico 5.1.30 update

Another little update to Dorico 5.1, which fixes a variety of bugs, and as usual adds some welcome new features and interface improvements. Codas and Breaks have a property to hide the systemic barline. You can also set the indent for a given Coda. Together, these are really useful for things like c...

Re: Scores in C or transposing?

I guess it's a bit similar to how singers used to sing from 4 different clefs, and if you needed to pitch your next entry by reference to another part, you'd have to read whichever C-clef was being used on each staff. But these days, most singers would at best only be able to sing 'relatively' from ...

Re: Lyrics in foreign language: italics of not?

Look it up in a good English dictionary. If it is there, it is part of standard English. If not, check online. It may have entered the language recently. The OED lists 'adieu' as being in common usage these last 600 years, so I'd say it's just about bedded in by now. In a passage like this Even if ...

Re: First MuseScore experience

In MuseScore, it's possible to change a lot of layout parameters but it's also, at least for me, to get lost in what you've done so if you want to go back some steps, you have forgotten what you've done in detail. There is a possibility to go back to the factory settings, but then you lose all manu...

Re: First MuseScore experience

In MuseScore, you work on score level where normally one instrument is one part. Now, in this case, I need to combine many instruments to fit the music in the score on one page in a readable size. This means, I’ve combined Flute 1/2, Oboe 1/2, Clarinet 1/2 etc. For this, I haven't yet found a good ...

Here's my prototype for a revised accent for Sebastian:

It has a very slightly thicker note-side edge, and a narrow angle.
