Re: OTF in Finale, and problems
Thanks Knut. I purchased Glyphs Mini in hope to easily create symbols for my needs. It seems I wasted money since there are no settings for such things. I used FontForge but now it is very unstable, takes time to load and so on. Back to the subject I now wonder why does Finale look at position 207 b...

Re: Dorico Diary No14
And this is my letter to Daniel Spreadbury, dating 17 Sept. 2014; numerous ideas, here No 4: 4. Document container. Each document has its own fonts, sizes etc. It could be great to have something what we have in InDesign: a document container. There could we have separate movements, or separate part...

Dorico Diary No14
http://blog.steinberg.net/2016/06/development-diary-part-14/ Very interesting, this InDesign style of layout is IMO one of the ground breaking tools. I have been using ID for a very long time at the final stage prior to sending PDF to my printer. ID is absolutely astonishing application, but if thi...

Re: OTF in Finale, and problems
It is very strange. Here is a screenshot from Glyphs, clearly the notehead is œ, unicode 0153: shot 5.png In Finale the normal Maestro shows as well œ symbol at place 207: shot 4.png But when I change to my edited Maestro the œ symbol remains the same notehead, but the symbols get to fff, choosing l...

OTF in Finale, and problems
Hi. I have purchased Glyphs Mini to be able to adjust some of fonts for my need. When I edited Maestro, and saved it as another font, I get many symbols messed up, so instead of :4 -notehead I get fff Anyone using Glyphs Mini, and how to adjust fonts to be compatible with Finale? Does OTF work? I ha...

Re: LilyPond/Denemo or Sibelius?
John Rethorst (well, we have now two Johns, and both are John R.), I am seriously thinking to switch to MuseScore - maybe you should check this one. It seems they are developing it very actively. You could perhaps also contribute if you want, and if they want. As a very long-time Finale user (and ve...

Re: [WORKBENCH] Brahms Op. 119, No. 1
Very nice, it has somehow "relaxed" outlook, which is a good sign for me. Dense - yes, but splendidly dense.

Re: RE: Re: Visual Music Font Comparison
OCTO, do you mean that it is available at IMSLP? Or that it is available published by publishers other than Universal? Or that Universal now publishers it without a copyright notice? It is available at IMSLP. The piece seems to be written before 1923. However, I think that the whole point of Jan's ...

Re: Visual Music Font Comparison
The piece is still "blocked" at IMSLP, i.e. if one tries to download it there are nothing but empty pages. Universal claims a 1924 copyright renewed in 1952 by Berg's widow. Yet others maintain that the piece was originally published in 1920 and Universal's claim is spurious. One can read...
