Yes, makes me wonder what the original designer was thinking!

Re: Am I the Only One? Let's Hear It!

@DatOrganistTho +1 Nice! Are these the same scores in this link? http://m.stantons.com/sheet-music/advanced-search/results/?t=Felix+Wolfes+Lieder It also looks like they're in a college library near me, so I'll definitely go check that out. It's funny I keep forgetting that there's an amazing colle...

Re: Am I the Only One? Let's Hear It!

I have some music I was given by a professor who cataloged Felix Wolfes Lieder for their doctorate. Theodore Presser at the time owned all the copies of this music, and soon unloaded it to Viola Dacus (the author of this thesis). She gave me a copy of every volume except a couple (she didn't have an...

Re: I'm No Luddite, But…

I totally agree. Music engraving is an art in its own right. Finale and Sibelius are only tools. One might say a computer programme is an intelligent tool, but it's choices are algorithms that are only as good as the ability of the programmer(s) to understand the problem, and to create a formula th...

Re: I'm No Luddite, But…

I don't think the dust has to settle too much more to figure that one out. One only need to look at the technology and the time that has passed. The ability to typeset music digitally has not be around more than 50 years. In the end, people preferred to typeset a book on the Gutenberg press because...

Re: Posting non-PD music

BTW, It is far easier to restrict content digitally than to do it physically. I think publishing companies are choosing the easy way out of all of this by choosing to go to digital media, disguising it behind what is a "we're going bankrupt" farce (though I know some of them are if they do...

Re: I'm No Luddite, But…

I agree with you Knut. The only point where I believe we differ is in the future quality demands. The capital is focused only on the income, and the current publishing houses are more less all businesses. Would you like to earn one million $ with bad scores or 1000 $ with quality scores - the answe...
