Re: Tertiary beams: a case for widening/thickening?
Looking at the first example again, you’ll notice there’s an identical pair of notes in the second measure that looks totally fine by comparison. That groups beams seem to have a little more white space between them. Why is that? Because I adjusted it! (Facepalm) Yes, indeed you said that. Sorry lo...

Re: Tertiary beams: a case for widening/thickening?
I guarantee, if you had only shown the second (adjusted) passage, not a single person would have noticed them being thicker. Re: Henle then and now

Just for comparison, I ran this passage through MuseScore 3.6, which is purported to have some significant engraving improvements over 3.5, which it probably does (but I didn't compare to that). Here is the raw default, no edits whatsoever: Henle-then-and-now-M...

Equity is definitely another one of my favorites.Dan Kreider wrote: ↑05 Jul 2021, 00:53 On a related note, I’ve started using Equity by Matthew Butterick and LOVE it. It’s similar to Minion Pro but even narrower. Incredibly legible at small point sizes. I love Matthew’s fonts.

I've used Linux Libertine O on a number of my own scores. It's a great one! Even used it as the font to publish my Masters Thesis in.
