Agree. I will wait for Dorico when it fits my needs.NicholasG wrote:A big disappointment to me is the Sibelius-style Note Input. Articulations, dotted notes, go in BEFORE the note is input. You cross the tee's and dot the eye's, not the other way around. I'll wait and see how Dorico evolves.

Re: Two-part problem
I would want to keep them on separate staves. If you must combine, you could write the first note of the lower part as two tied :5 … that would at least give you stems. Tying the upper part doesn’t help anything. That is what I first had in mind, but didn't comment since Ben was asking for not chan...

Re: First ending over multiple pages
I think nothing is unusual having the ending line cross multiple systems or pages. I am not sure in your example why is the line going behind the system's border - looks very non-professional. As the rule: nothing should pass over the far-right bar-line, except time signatures; and absolutely nothin...

Re: Text fonts in musical scores
I get it out on my Samsung tablet. Great! But, since any font can be used as a textual font, isn't it a bit waste of energy to list ANY available (or unavailable) font? I would definitely go for some free alternatives at the first place, and give some recomendations. I have seen many terrible font c...

Re: Text fonts in musical scores
Indeed a hard task. For your questions: I believe it is very much defined by score type, style, editor, publisher. Maybe you should include only the fonts you can get license for free, so that anyone can benefit. Many of these fonts are very expensive. Personally, choosing fonts in music scores is t...

Re: Software: Overture
I have seen that webpage earlier but I had lost interest since I couldn't find any example that would convice me to buy it. Apppreciated if anyone who uses it could post an example (advanced, edited) of Overture.

Re: Dorico sample.
For my eyes, Dorico default-output looks very unbalanced. Not sure exactly why, but there is the font issue. Bravura is terribly unbalanced font, and also the combination of fonts are far from perfect. The half note-head has less power than the black note-head, for example. Furthermore, there is ten...

Re: Repeat and cresecendo
Along the lines of David Ward's suggestion: Free repeat with cresc..jpg Hm John, that is also quite interesting, the only problem is that I need to reach p at the end of that repeat, not in the next measure. I think that the language barierre is the most problematic. Usin David's ‘repeat ad lib thr...

Repeat and cresecendo
I have one measure to repeat unspecified number of times but in order to get from pppp to p. How to notate it?
If I put repeat symbol and crescendo, it can be understood as numerous times crescendo every time the repetition begins.
