Re: No tiff-pictures

OK, because some of you have already uploaded TIFF, I will just enable TIFF as a document (=download only, not embedding).

Disabling TIFF

Yes, the same. It doesn't work in all browsers, NOT in Chrome and NOT in Firefox.

What we can do is to completely disable TIFF upload, and to have just safe files.

Or if anyone else know how to fix it, let me know.

Now I have carefully checked what is stated in her book, and I personally see it as a default (standard), which should be followed.

Re: Quarter rest design

Interesting discussion. I would love for you to comment on the design of the rests from my own music font. Absolutely amazing. For me it looks like "softened Engraver" or "emboldened Maestro", but in both cases the soft edges, and good boldness makes it very pleasant. Here are q...

Re: Notational curiosity?

Hm... I would say the same. As composer myself, I tend to write something I shouldn't, but later on when proofreading I see something like that. I believe he wanted piano to wait somehow (endlessly) for cello to make ritardando... One thing I "feel" that happens is the following: the cello...

I am definitely interested in your opinion about it!

Re: Pencils for music

All the children get their own pencils and sharpeners for Christmas this year. :D :t :D Those are very soft but very black and wonderful. Interesting. I always look after a good balance between hardness (B+ only) and quality (that don't break easily). But I haven't been thinking about the color! Wh...

Re: Pencil engraving - scores

Seems to be like that, Fred. I just wonder how he calculated how many measures/beats would fit per page. For me it seems to be the most problematic. Like: - finding the most dense beat - knowing your smallest item distance (notes with accidentals) - mapping that in to the raster - rasterizing the pa...

Re: Pencils for music

I have never hear of them, but for me (freelance composer) $40 is a bit to much. What is that on the top, I can't see well? I use "Staedtler" Tradition and Mars Lumograph. Tradition are cheaper than Lumograph, but I find Lumograph to be more solid. images-1.jpg 44727.jpg I use only B varia...

Re: Maestro font

I used Maestro in both. When I printed the music, I was surprised to see that the two fonts looked different. The font by itself should look completely the same if it is the same font file. As Vaughan has said, these settings can be the case. It can also be deifferent beam settings, lines settings ...
