I have tried that, but it doesn't work. Or do you have another approach in mind?

Re: Exotic grace notes in Boulez

Excellent tisimst! What I might think is like that (in Finale or I guess Sibelius): 1. count the greatest number of notes at the beat. At the beat 4 that is the Violin. 2. count extra "invisible" notes to fill the rest of the beat. In the case of Violin at the beat 4 it would be about 8 ex...

Re: Music Type Foundry - new fonts!

Great to hear, tisimst!
I would be more than happy to use many of them!
If I might as you, will they be mapped for Finale as the Maestro table? Or it will be SMULF so that a plug-in "translates" symbols from to another?

If you need any help, I am, we are here!

Music Type Foundry - new fonts!

This can be both under Links and Type - subforum. But I believe many are looking for fonts here, so: http://www.musictypefoundry.com I welcome it back!! Abraham Lee has created a great number of fantastic looking fonts, first for LilyPond for free and now commercially available. The fonts are provid...

Re: Exotic grace notes in Boulez

I don't know how it would be in LilyPond, but in Finale and Sibelius it is a pretty tricky task. The problem is that there is a defined amount of grace-notes positioned to the left (including the normal note spacing), than following by one real note which is not aligned with another real notes. With...

Exotic grace notes in Boulez

Interesting, the point here is when the grace notes enter, and the notation picture is very clear to me; on the other hand, the main notes are missing their original values, so to speak, not of the correct duration, but it is so even with the "standard" notation. How would you approach thi...

Re: Muzitex - for music text

Oh, that is very helpful, tisimst!
Many thanks, I will forward this to my copyist.

Btw, how have you learned all this about fonts, is there any good book on it, or any other resource? Tisimst, Knut?

Re: Muzitex - for music text

Dear tisimst, I have managed to re-produce Muzitex in Glyphs Mini. I opened FreeSerif and simply copy/pasted needed symbols in a new document. Than I emboldened it by 15 (something) and rounded the corners. I saved it as Muzitex2 and separated the italic style. Now it works for my copyist on Windows...
