As do I. And once again, LP doesn't disappoint (and nicely done, Knut!):

Re: How many slashes for unmeasured tremolos (including beamed)?

Sorry to bring this thread up again, but I have to ask since I'm pretty sure the tremoli in the Violin/Viola sections, top system, are intended to be played at the same repetitions regardless of the note's duration, but is the tremolo notation correct? Should they always have 4 tremolo slashes or sh...

Re: Maestro G Clef

Of course, Adobe is moving all its fonts to OpenType now, so it has released "Sonata Std" .otf. The problem is that they have re-mapped all the characters to the Unicode section for music symbols, and not the original ASCII characters. So it won't work as a replacement for "legacy&qu...

Re: Why SCORE is so good, an opinion

Interesting discussion of notation strategies: http://www.jeffreygrossman.com/engraving.html I wonder how much of his discussion applies to LilyPond. This is a great explanation of what really does make SCORE so nice, to name just a few reasons. No doubt there are more. How does his discussion rela...

Re: Length for ledger line?

For decades I have wished for software to mimic the shortening done in plate engraving, specifically to get runs of fast notes outside the staff even closer together. That is particularly noticeable in piano scores. Short response : This is VERY easily done with LilyPond ;-) Longer response : Progr...

Re: Notation Programs' Output Comparison

Is everyone aware of what is already being done here?: https://github.com/engraving-challenges/winterwind I'm not sure this engraving challenge falls within the scope of what we're trying to accomplish. Although interesting, the winterwind score quickly became a contest of who could even engrave th...

Re: Maestro G Clef

There are numerous things that I don't love about Sonata, but overall I'd have to agree with you about the general construction, in that many (notice I didn't say "all") of the common curve "artifacts" seem to have been taken care of, while many other music fonts are plagued with...

Re: Notation Programs' Output Comparison

A short comment about "default" settings. I don't believe in default settings, at least not for Finale neither Sibelius. What I mean is that someone adjusted software settings in order to present "some kind of house style". I remember clearly how the default document in Finale h...
