Please enlighten me on the meaning of...
In Samuel Barber's Piano Nocturne, measures 23 to 24. I'm not sure of the meaning of the Bass slur (See below).
Wouldn't this slur (See below) have the same meaning?

Re: Dorico Finale Side by Side
Update: Was able to fix the spacing in m. 7 by increasing the "minimum distance between adjacent rhythmic items" to 2 1/2 spaces, under Engraving Options->Spacing Gaps (the bottommost setting). I don't know if this will have a bad effect somewhere else. This looks much better. Though I no...

Re: Dorico Finale Side by Side
In my posted Dorico version, Dorico placed the tenuto (over the 1/8 note) above the staff, you must have adjusted it.

It's also set up to allow as much music on each system as possible, which is why accidentals and notes appear too close in certain types of music if left as is. By comparison, Finale's accidental spacing can become quite unpleasant in tight spacing situations. The Finale engraved Nocturne in questi...

Re: Dorico Finale Side by Side
it is Sibelius sir, and i did several times trying out with Dorico, the workflow just don't fit my habits .. and there's no example score to play with .. starting out with only 1 bar is just doesn't make sense to me :) What I like about Dorico is that when you start a new project, all you have to e...

Re: Dorico Finale Side by Side
I much prefer your Finale result. The music lives and breathes because of the better spacing and font. Dorico does get CLOSER to an acceptable result with the right hand slurs than Finale. (However, I completed the right hand in Finale and found that my slur settings produce a better result than yo...

Dorico Finale Side by Side
This is the default output of both Finale and Dorico. Exceptions: In both documents, the bars were joined. In Finale, I had to use the resize tool and set it for 85% to match as closeley as possible to Dorico's default size. In Dorico bar 7, it's not possible to replicate the tempo marking at this t...
