Ledger line thickness

Hi All, Regarding this pic: https://notat.io/download/file.php?id=2235 The different widths of staff lines vs. ledger lines in the Lilipond examples do bother me a lot more than everything else, I have to admit. You are so right. I was so fixated on the length of the ledger lines, that I completely ...

Re: Accidentals alignment

Now back to my first question: I understand that both of you do not like the accidental's default placement of LP. But does any of you have found such alignment in traditionally engraved scores?
Is there any rules (Gould?) :?:

Re: Accidentals alignment

[...] My main point was that the ledger lines should not be so obviously different from each other on the same note. I think that it is actually worse than no shortening at all, and LilyPond should certainly rethink this. Well, that discussion was made by the LP devels looong time ago (see: http://...

Accidentals alignment

Hi,
Please consider the following LilyPond default outputs:

accidentals-ledger-lines-default.jpg
accidentals-ledger-lines-default.jpg (45.23 KiB) Viewed 7832 times

So it looks like LP changes the accidental sign alignment after more than 2 ledger lines.
What do you think about this output?

Cheers,
Pierre

Thank you for your explanation John, I'd never understood the manuscript measure by itself.

Re: Dorico 3 Launch

Hi benwiggy, Two minor remarks regarding the guitar/tablature part: https://www.scoringnotes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/guitar-20-1024x231.png 1. The ottavation is missing on the trebble clef (on purpose?). 2. Finger #0 is a nonsense (but fret #0 could be understandable for the tablature). Some ...

Re: Dorico/Lilypond/SCORE?

Re: Key signature and staff size

[...] In the first of the following examples, the spacing is set at .08 space which looks OK to me. It might even go up a little. The second example is set at .2 space, which for me is too large. I too was surprised at how small the acceptable range is. Of course, I couldn't keep the larger key sig...
