Re: Dorico
Wow, thanks Knut! Actually, I think I will buy Dorico once it can meet my needs. (an example from my score: https://issuu.com/octoechos/docs/on_the_guarding_of_the_heart ). I think that Dorico team should win better if they introduced it with the price of 99€ instead of 600€. The price is comparable...

Re: Beaming on Sibelius VS Finale
Is your screenshot from PDF Viewer? Sometimes it is visible sometimes not. Not sure why, perhaps PDF Viewer has some problems to interpret PDF. The problem can be just in the interpretation, or true misplacing. PDF created by Finale or Sibelius is a combo of lines, fonts and shapes. The best solutio...

Re: Various Line Settings
Thanks David and tisimst. I also returned recently to this thread to check the different recommendations. But I don't see that we have found an unanimous answer to this, perhaps it is up to everyone's taste. The idea to put everything in a reference thread is good, but it takes a very lot time -- ri...

Re: [LilyPond] Strait slurs and more.
I do think that all slurs should maintain at least a slight arch. Flat areas are not attractive. Slurs shown by tisimst are a bit to straight in my opinion too, yet some composers would love to use just these in Finale. However, not all straight or flat slurs are uncommon. Many old publishers pract...

Re: The software I used to copy music (1993-2003)
I am sorry that he had to resort to all of that, but he was certainly resourceful. I think it is very interesting to see how much effort one can put in the final score, not only using presets, defaults of the current notation software. One of the Notatio members, Wess, is one of that persons who us...

Re: Full Score versus Study Score terminology
I think that B4 is a very large size to be considered as reduced. Consider A4 or Letter with outlined and emboldened print (can be started as a new thread). While the terminology seems to be an issue, I don't find any problem to say "study score", if it can fit or not in pocket. "Stud...
