Re: Introducing Sovietta!
Absolutely wonderful (as with pretty much all of Abraham's work) The "balance" is impeccable. Really very hard to take issue with any of the engraving as shown.

Re: Feedback and suggestions on hand-drawn clefs
It doesn't look hand-drawn to me - more like it's imitating the Novello clefs of the early 20th century. That being said, it definitely doesn't match the flats. I'm not opposed to that design on principle, as long as the remainder of the font matches it in weight and style. Definitely preferable to ...

Re: NorMusicSMFL font for DORICO (still under developement)
I don't understand the use of the thinner version on a score as small as that. Maybe because you're used to a thicker version?... question of one's perspetive. At those small staff sizes (where lines need to be proportionally thicker), it doesn't scan as well as the thicker version. The impression ...

Re: NorMusicSMFL font for DORICO (still under developement)
I prefer the darker version but the remainder of the score needs to be proportionally darker to compensate as well.

Re: Comparison of music text fonts
#4 looks the most "musical" to me. #3 has a bit too much Times in it for me, and #1 is too light to balance against the music in your example.

Re: Nice text font for music
Nice design, but I would want a sturdier variant for most uses. ("Caption" vs. "Text")

Re: Term for the opposite of 'Melisma'
I'm not sure what the utility of this term would be either way, since the custom is to give each syllable its own note (even if it remains at the same pitch), except for certain languages where syllables are elided as a linguistic rather than musical feature.

Re: An Intriguing Measure in Beethoven’s op. 101
What are your thoughts on those in light of Schenker's personal observations, John, and (additionally for me) the initial gesture in the first movement? Is its notation just designed to show the three registers used, or would Beethoven have seriously intended for both the low note and the chord to b...

I much prefer the slur in that situation as well, John.
