OS X Finale autosave script

I currently use - Autosave Script (this hits Cmd+S), attached - ChornoSync (with archive handling) Having both programs run at 5 minutes intervall, I create automatic versioning (999+ versions). I can simply go back in time and check exactly when something was done improperly, or to return to previo...

Slurs direction in vocal music

I face problems with slurs that, by default placed under music, collide with lyrics (as in with low notes in Alto).

Do you think it is OK to place slurs ABOVE (not default) to minimize clutter and collisions with lyrics?

Re: Feature Request Forum at MM

I think everything depends on who uses what for what purpose. Today, I added one extra staff in a very large score. That messed up grouping of other staves, and removed manually adjusted dynamics for several instruments. And who knows what more. My copyist and me are just discovering bad things afte...

Re: Feature Request Forum at MM

...I have a very long list what should be improved; I posted many for several years in several topics around the old forum. Re: 3 beaming choices

That is of course a great guideline.
But what is striking in Mozart's example is his break-rule attitude which results in poly-beat music, in fact, very contemporary, a Bartok-like way.

Re: 3 beaming choices

Mozart's example is totally amazing, thanks John for sharing that!
It is far more contemporary than I could ever imagine.

I agree - follow the manuscript. Some people will shake their heads, ignore that.

Agreed. There are some inconsistence with the engraving rules in his file, but I didn't want to comment. I just enjoyed the font outlook, as I believe it is purpose of that example. :)

For a quick review, it is best to attach picture, many people browse this forum on tablets or phones as well!

Because it is so slow tempo, all are possible. But I still like B, feels very "fluid".

Re: 3 beaming choices

I would go with B, a bit old fashioned.
However, if we know more about the instrument, tempo and style we would perhaps come with other solutions as well.
