Plate numbers

Post by Schneider »

Are there any rules or standards for plate numbers?
Are they numbered according to a chronological order (e.g. is "EMT 1" the very first score published by EMT)?

I think it’s a matter of preference for each company. Since I am a one-man operation, I have been putting a date stamp on the bottom of score pages since I began with Finale in 1988. This helps me know, when someone has marked up changes, which version of a file they worked from.
