Hi, odod. Sorry, I didn't understand your comment. Do you mean that the tip of one of the slurs is kissing a staff line? If so, I think you are right that it is nicer if a slur passes through a staff line at least a little. But I do see slur tips just touching staff lines in several good editions I just consulted. For example on page 37 of the Wiener Urtext Chopin Etudes op 25 I see three big slurs that touch, including one that touches on both ends! And I see one in T. Ross on page 141 first example although there it might have been intended to go through, but so slightly that it hasn't quite made it, at least in my copy.

However, if you are gently hinting that most of the slurs in the second measure are badly shaped, I am well aware of that but don't apologize, because I quickly engraved this only to show the point I was making to avoid any hint of breaking copyright law by using the original Wiener Urtext. I decided a while ago that life is too short to worry about perfect engraving every time I post an example on a website, unless it is relevant to the discussion, which it isn't here.
