Could it have been Nightengale? IIRC, that was an outgrowth of the Synclavier system.

Nightingale was my first foray into computer notation, and by all accounts it was terrible. I was eventually able to get a cross-grade to Finale, and the difference was night and day.

Wahh! Not bad at all Den!!
Maybe the ties look a little strange, otherwise the output is nice, even with its old fashion clef.

I worked without electricity, ie only the candle was next to me !.... (1992-1995.)
I had to get electricity from a friend who was some 300 meters away from me with the only generator in the whole neighborhood!
And what's worse, shots were fired in all directions, a lot of grenades fell around my building, so many,,....
so it's a memory for me, so whatever it looks like ...
I worked at Atari and it was very ... as you say ... suffering with pleasure ;-))))
