Read all about it!

Big promises to keep MS the same, but time will tell.

Acquired from whom, for what?
Of course, a large disappointment for me.
All these "bug reports, coding, to contribute community" seems to me now as false.
A sad story.

Acquired from MuseScore (i.e., Werner Schweer, Nicolas Froment and Thomas Bonte) in order to give it the resources it needs to continue developing. MS has always been a for-profit company, just not in the notation app part of it. The app will remain open source and community driven. Hopefully the additional programmers and other financial resources give it the boost it needs.

As I understand now, MuseScore.org notation is a community driven, but it was at the same time inside of a privately registered company.
Sorry for my ignorance in that matters...
