Re: Logging in to the forum?

Post by David Ward »

I'm now getting this (see screenshot) in Firefox and am having to use Safari, which requires the double attempt I first described in my original post. I tried manually entering my password, but that made no difference.

Is it security related? I notice that Safari tells me the site is not secure.

EDIT: This is getting stranger. The problem is on a MacBook running OS 10.14. On my desktop Mac running 10.13 and using the identical version of Firefox I can log-in immediately with no problems at all. Safari also seems to log-in with just one step on my Desktop (and there's no notice about the site's not being secure). The versions of Safari are the same on both computers.

Restarting the MacBook makes no difference and all other sites that I use are working normally.

Yes, good that it works!

I have just sent a mass mail to all users with the same message, but have got bounced about 50% of users because of the spam settings in the mail domain.
A new attempt to send to the rest of users in 60 minutes again. Sorry if you get it again!

Cleared cookies on Chrome, but I am still not remembered and have to sign in every time.

Hello. I guess you have deleted the cookies as proposed. Have you tried deleting the cookies when not visiting the site, such as blank window?
I use both Firefox and Safari and don't get this problem.

Same here, even with cleared cookies.

I am on Chrome/Windows 10.

I am so sorry to hear about it. Maybe I have to reset the cookies again, thus all will log out.
Sorry to inconvenience, I know it might be irritating.

What about log-in, than log-out, than again log-in -- does it save than?

EDIT:
I have reset the cookie values as recommended to the following:

Your resetting of the cookies seems to have solved another oddity I had been noticing. I had sometimes been showing as on-line on the forum when I had in fact logged out. This is now back to normal.

I again deleted the three notat.io cookies in Chrome, restarted Chrome, but the "remember me" problem persists. I also had to log in twice this time.

I did the same in Safari with the same result.
