I noticed this option with beams, which I have never used before.

So far, the default in Finale is "Standard Note", but when I changed to "Extreme Note" I noticed a very pleasant output.
Another option is slope. More slope seems to produce more warm output, such as slope 2 spaces.

What is your opinion?

As far as a remember 'Flattened beams based on standard note' option was added to produce more pleasant, flatter beams. Since I use Patterson Beams consistently, I always have this setting at 'Flatten beams based on extreme note', because the plug-in requires it for best results.

Good to know. Now I will use Patterson since it looks best, IMO.
