I have been always very fascinated with SCORE. Lilypond has similar way to execute engraving procedure. I wonder if here is anyone using it on regular basis.

I am also curious about the efficiency of making scores in Lilypond (fixing errors, re-arranging, copy pasting), spatial notation, beams over bar-lines, complex nested tuplets, full scores (hiding staves, divisi, combining woodwinds).

I would definitely like to learn more about it. It seems for me like Latex for music.

Hi OCTO,

I'm a LilyPond daily user.
For example, here's a funny thing I made few weeks ago : http://lsr.di.unimi.it/LSR/Item?id=1005
LP's biggest advantage is the unlimited possibilities that it offers. ;)

Cheers,
Pierre

That's pretty cool! I might have to investigate Lilypond more myself.

Indeed, very nice.
Pierre, would you be interesting in engraving some examples, what I think is "advanced", and what I find in my engraving/music very often?
It would be great to compare these results! My examples are done in Finale.

Thank you.

Here is an example. There are missing woodwinds and brass. Therefore maybe some small spacing deviations.

Wasn't this originally set with Graphire Music Press?

Yep, absolutely (Graphire reference put on top of my coding too :) - simply click on the image to show the code)

@OCTO : I downloaded your pdf this afternoon, and will take a close look ASAP.

I always hated the LP standard treble clef and from the very beginning. Now I found that it has a very big advantage: one can recognize a LP score immediately. ;)
Now regarding the note heads, thanks for pointing this out.
I never noticed that before and your are absolutely right! I'll try to fix that, it shouldn't be very difficult to do.

So, here it goes:

LilyPond reduced note heads:

... Not sure if it's that much visible on the jpegs though. :)
