Re: Font feedback
As a point of clarification, fonts are classified as "software" which has a EULA and thus is copyrighted, while the design of the glyphs on the printed page are not copyrighted. From a point of law, AFAIU, you cannot copyright type design as it is printed, because letters are not capable o...

Re: Alignment of (double) whole notes
So, @OCTO and @tisimst, it would be important to layout a philosophy of these notes.
Clearly, Lilypond, unless it is a whole note, prefers to align slightly to the left of the note column, while in MuseScore it is clearly the center column. Could either of you give justification for your preference?

Re: Programming library for music engraving
I'm sure you are aware of any limitations of digital rendering and hinting. I think the first thing that jumps out at me is how anemic the music seems. Not to mention, it feels clumsy. But I'm sure you know that.

How Much Would You Charge?
I'm trying to figure out a quote system so that people can figure out how much I'd charge. What are your going rates? Do you charge per measure? per page? per project? Do a combination of hourly + system count?
I'm really curious here to know what you guys would do.

Re: Alignment of (double) whole notes
FYI, here's LilyPond's default; it seems to align left. It's not exactly "left-aligned". The glyphs in LilyPond fonts are encoded such that the vertical short stems are farther left than the left side of the notehead itself. The SMuFL standard allows the same thing. Sent from my iPhone us...

Re: [Lilypond] Numerous Questions & Thoughts
If it is not too late to jump on the bandwagon here: I came to LilyPond REALLY late. Like, saw it was cool, cost nothing, and instantly got turned off by the programming facade. I've bought several versions of Finale, even cross-graded over to Sibelius for a couple years, went to MuseScore, then arr...

Re: Binding of full scores (coil? wire-o? comb? &c)
I think, to tag on to @OCTO, that it is important to make sure that the weight of the paper is more significant, and that the finish is also not rough. Most printer papers are inadequate and substantially underwhelming for these kinds of tasks. A 60 gsm paper weight should be at the BOTTOM of the la...

Re: A font from a obsolete notation program
This is a fabulous font. I love the balance of it: one of the first I've liked with the perpendicular center line on the G clef! Well done!
I know @tisimst would love to convert it over the LilyPond![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
