Re: Finale 27 Fonts going bonkers
An Apple Support document shows that these fonts are still available for documents that already use them; so existing documents should be fine, but you can't use them in new documents. A quick test of a Finale 2009 file on El Capitan creates a file with text in Times (also Athelas, Courier and Mario...

Re: Finale 27 Fonts going bonkers
That's not great support. Firstly, even if Times is missing, it shouldn't cause a problem with selecting other fonts that are installed. Secondly, recommending some random free font site, is not good practice, as those sites tend to be sketchy and of dubious legal status. The font they've recommende...

Re: più and meno as dynamic modifers
Thanks all. "A lot to think about." I'll probably just say mp for everyone, and trust in a choir's natural tendency to get louder. ![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: più and meno as dynamic modifers
Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen something like 'più f' following piano, but only following something like forte, so slightly overlooked the completely relative aspect.
It's probably safer to use absolute terms. Thanks.

più and meno as dynamic modifers
I presume, following Italian, that 'più piano' is quieter than piano, and thus 'meno piano' is louder; and the same is true for 'molto piano'. I'm looking for a 'warmer mezzopiano than we've just had' instruction. So più mp wouldn't be right, and meno mp seems counter-intuitive and open to rehearsal...

Re: Slurs and ties coinciding
I would favour the slurs starting slightly earlier and finishing later than the tie, making the slur bigger, not making the tie smaller.
