Re: Control Shape and Position of Windows on Mac

I always uncheck the box to reopen windows. in order to do that, the Mac has to save the current app status in RAM, to have it handy when it starts up. If anything has gone corrupt in the time you used the Mac, it will be allowed to stay corrupt on the next restart. Errr.. no. The computer doesn't ...

Re: Control Shape and Position of Windows on Mac

One cannot truly quit Finder, right? Just Relaunch it when it is stuck, IIRC. The Finder quits when you shutdown. I'm amazed at how many users manage to so seldom log-out or shut down, or restart. Perhaps it is something with the apps I'm using but, if I do not quit Sibelius or some Adobe apps befo...

Re: Control Shape and Position of Windows on Mac

If you've turned OFF "Close windows when quitting an application", so that an app will automatically load the same windows it had when it quit, then that should be sufficient. Can you give an example of the problem you're having? There is an annoyance in the Finder, which seems to close th...

I meant "of course" in the sense of "what else would I be using?".

Re: 6-sided Pedal symbol

Which font is it? Sebastian, of course! The :ped symbol is pretty standard, but the P from :ped on its own looks a little unbalanced -- or rather, too symmetrical, as both curls have a similar weight, rather than one being the main counter, and the other a swash serif. So I changed it to a more P t...

Re: 6-sided Pedal symbol

I emailed the chief engraver at Henle. Apparently they used both the 6 and 8 star in their hand engravings. Their digital pages produced by Amadeus software also produce a six-pointed star; but they now use an 8-pointed star and have no plans to change!

Does anyone have Amadeus? Does it use fonts?

You could use Note Spacing changes for the middle system.

Re: 6-sided Pedal symbol

Not sure I understand how you get from your second image onwards. Are you manually applying round corners to the whole thing? Can't believe that took just 2 minutes.

But, yes, there are probably lots of ways of doing it.

Is that in FontLab? I did mine in Affinity, and then pasted in.

Re: accidental stacking in chords

The advantage of Dorico is that you can select the 'floating' accidental and set its column value directly, rather than just moving it graphically. If you set the column to 0, then the top accidental would move to column 1 to avoid collision. (I know that's not what you would want in this instance, ...
