I think, for running Finale, you don't need a very strong computer. I have had a laptop connected to the external monitor and keyboard for years and it worked well.

I think... I need to go through all my Finale scores, proofread, fix mistakes, and create the final PDF scores/parts. Not that I am afraid I will not be able to open, but I am afraid I will forget all the commands and workarounds. Sadly, I am using Sibelius now.

I know they backtracked and that's their current position, but I have to think at some point in the future they will change again and discontinue it. When? I dunno. 2 years? 5 years? Certainly I wouldn't expect to still be able to install Finale 10 years from now. And that's assuming some OS update...

which alternative notation do you then use (e.g. for a string player or pianist knocking on the instrument), normal noteheads on a one line staff? Or something different? You can use a normal notation, using the middle line and just write above "knocking on the instrument." Dear OCTO, tha...

I have designed a set of noteheads, each using an X attached to the shape of the notehead. However, the noteheads have been slightly resized to adjust for proper spacing. It just works. No other fonts can match with what I need.
