Re: The best software for clearing up (notation) a freely performed MIDI

In your example, the B3 note seems to have a small "ritard." (let us assume so!). Can you click on the first C4 note (looks like a tuplet C-B-C) and put the barline there, and consequently click on A3 and choose "the second beat", so that the tempo changes in order to correspond ...

The best software for clearing up (notation) a freely performed MIDI

I hope that future advancements in AI will make easier the process of notating improvised music, particularly in genres like jazz that heavily rely on improvisation. Personally, I do not have any difficulties when transcribing entirely freely improvised music recorded as MIDI, unfortunately it takes...

Re: Dorico 5 released

Dorico does something called "slices", which are whatever you choose from the score page to export as a graphic. Is that what you're asking about? there are multiple choices of output file to choose from. Can you export one measure as SVG, and when opened in a vector editor it is the size...

Re: Text layout page 1

I don't think I've seen the date right-justified below the composer name as you have it in your examples. Indeed, it is customary for the year of creation to be attached to the title, typically appearing below it. Hector Pascal example could potentially lead to the erroneous interpretation that the...

Sounds good!
How is Dorico handling the export of graphics? SVG? In Sibelius you can export SVG but unfortunately it exports the whole page. It can't export only a selected part of the score.

Re: Text layout page 1

As far as I know, the composer's name is typically positioned at the top of the musical staff, aligned to the right. Usually, it appears affixed to the first system, maintaining a proximity that is neither overly compact nor excessively spaced. But it is usually the closest placed "introductory...

Question about Dorico "default slurs for grace notes"

My student has given me permission to post this examples from his score on the forum. This piece was created using Dorico, however, it appears that the default parameters have not been modified, resulting in several erroneous elements in the output. 1) The slur associated with the "resized"...

Re: How to print a softcover with larger spine

For those seeking to create educational materials, Lightning Source is a potentially suitable choice to explore. While the service is limited to saddle-stitch binding for documents up to 44 pages in A4/Letter size and does not offer larger formats or stay-flat books, it is an economical option that ...
