Re: Legitmacy of Dotted Tuplets

Hello, I've just used Sibelius to write out a septuplet over a dotted quarter (half of the 6:8 bar). To fit it, I used a custom tuplet of 7:6, and then hid the 7:6 (the ratios often being unnecessary) and replaced it with a text character. There is a plug-in called NbyM Tuplet that can create any t...

Re: MusAnalysis

Wonderful work!
Questions: is it possible to add (use) all Latin letters? Also, possible to use all super/subscripts? Possible to use symbols under the main symbol?

Re: Philosophy of Music Notation

OCTO, I've had an eBay alert for Notations 21 for years, but it's always way out of budget whenever it pops up! Yes, it was really a limited run, and quickly it was sold out. I was lucky and bought I think for 80USD, new. Thanks for the pictures, good to explore. Sorry, what is next to Karkoschka? ...

Is anyone aware of with whom this might live?
I have done the arrangement of Libertango for full orchestra.
You have to find who is the © representative in your country. As the first step, get in touch with Edizioni Curci who is © holder of "Libertango". https://www.edizionicurci.it/

Re: Philosophy of Music Notation

I think Alan means more "philosophy" rather than "techniques" of music notation. But I believe that the term "philosophy" could include as well aesthetic, psychology, visual perception etc. (etc= rhetoric, dogma, math, geometry, what else...?)

Another is an academic research by Matthias Sköld (otherwise a member here too):

Re: Philosophy of Music Notation

A very nice idea! It would be more than helpful to add the ISBN / ISMN for each book, than it is easier to find. The book from Andrea Valle I haven't seen before, and would definitely love to explore, thank you for that. Just what it comes first to my mind is an extravagant book I have, perhaps not ...

The client literally just wants to design clefs that are different enough to be distinct.
Ouch! But the client doesn't know that designing brand new clefs requires designing brand new all other symbols, a complete font. :geek:
