Re: Henle Notehead size

Indeed, Henle font has these preferences.

But I agree with John. Also, Maestro Wide has sacrificed the boldness, so it is bigger and less legible.

Re: has anyone heard from Octo recently?

Dear friends, Thank you for reaching out to me and for your sincere worries. I am sorry for making uncertainties. Indeed I was away for so long time, due to a major collision of various things including corona3, two deadlines, two travels, new contracts, and finally I needed to ask for help and rese...

Re: Positioning Chord Symbols and Rehearsal Marks for Jazz

It looks fine to me. In general, RM should be at any convenient place, and not disturbing the music reading. Also, in your example, I would change to the another font type, such as Sans with bold type, just in order to prevent mixing it with all other "music information" texts.

I would center the notes and the rests and disregard the clef. This is one reason why the older engravers centered single notes that occupy a whole measures.
Yes, that is how it should be, thank you for the suggestion.

Centering full measure rest

Shouldn't the full measure rest be centered between TS and the right barline in this case?
Here Sibelius adds an extra space for the cautionary clef, but it looks strange to my eyes.
Looking for consensus.

I still have my Pelikan Graphos, some Z1 nibs and some Aztec ink, although I haven't touched any of this in years.

Re: Proofreading suggestions

Not only Peters makes such mistakes but also Hansen with Poulenc’s “Sex tour”: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/sextuor-sheet-music/16656583 Haha! I think the reason is because in Danish "sex" means 6. But, "Sryinx" - I can't even pronounce it. :) They've even taken the image off their si...

This is scandalous.
I am glad that I didn't accept their offer to get published by them. I was warned several times by other composer-friends not to do it.

Re: O/T bariolage question

in the Ysaye example, I'm presuming the "melody" is played on the G string (until the B natural, where it switches to the A string)? Exactly so. going by your comment, if I break the beams for the open strings, the notation becomes VERY messy and difficult to follow. That's why I proposed to attach...
