Re: Wagner tuba score order

There are also Bb Wagner tubas, but I agree with David that treating them like F Horns is probably optimal.

Term re: harmonics

Help! I'm drawing a complete blank... I have an ossia staff showing the resultant pitches for an extended passage of string harmonics. I know there is a term that basically means "actual sounds" but I cannot for the life of me remember what it is. Something like sons real , or somesuch... ...

Re: Wind-machine notation examples

Fifth movement ("Cloudburst") of Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite.

EDIT: I just realized I had this score in my collection.

It just shows tied whole notes and dynamics.

Re: Marcato (rooftop) accent always above?

I would only use the upside down version on a staff with multiple voices; otherwise it's always above the staff.

Re: 6/8 Tuplet question

I find that either B or D works for me. If I have a lot of quarter/crochet duplets I'm going to use dotted eighths/quavers for consistent readability.

Re: What are your ideal default settings for Dorico lines

These are what I'm currently using:

staff lines: 1/7 spaces
ledger lines: 1/5 spaces
barlines: 4/25 spaces
stems: 1/6 spaces

I also beefed up my slurs
slur end: 1/10 spaces
slur middle: 1/4 spaces

Re: Converting old "flageolets" indicators to harmonics

Yikes, then I would just assume that these are the sounding pitches and rewrite accordingly (touch-fourth natural harmonic on the D and G strings for the D and G, fingered B touch-fourth artificial harmonic on the G string for the B, and... open string E?).

Are there any recordings? Composer still alive? Known performers?
