Thank you all again for your very thoughtful suggestions.
I much prefer the updates that I've made based on your recommendations... it looks so much less meager on the page! Here's the example.

Re: Staff and leger line thicknesses
I've thickened up some of these values (including bar lines), any improvement? I included a part with more ledger lines to better show the change.

Re: Staff and leger line thicknesses
the time signatures look strange to my eye, a bit too large. I prefer them to fit the staff exactly. that said, I find the staff lines and ledger lines very nice. what setting did you use? Staff and leger line thicknesses
Hi folks, I was finding my staff lines and leger lines in Dorico to be a bit spindly, so I increased their size a bit.

Re: Resized staff/note and line thickness
I have found that leger lines in Dorico for cued music are far too spindly, and I increase them by 1/4 space to make them more visible.
I'm not sure offhand the percentage difference between cued notes and grace notes, but I'm sure it's not far.

Re: "durational equivalent" name?
Probably something close to "metric modulation," though in the case above it's showing that the half note remains the same tempo.

Re: octave line question
I really like the simplicity of the upper staff, though I would break the beams.
