Re: clef change problem for viola

I agree with David that putting the whole passage in treble clef would probably be the best situation.

Thanks @John Ruggero ! I appreciate the time you took to put these together.

I'll pop these in and take a look.

EDIT: NICE! These settings are a big improvement, John! Thank you for sharing.

Line/Slur/etc. settings for Dorico

Hi folks, Using the information in this forum, I updated Finale's defaults for lines and slurs (etc.) and have really enjoyed the look it has given my works. Since moving to Dorico, I haven't checked "beneath the hood" but I am now working on completing my first score. Question: has anyone...

Re: Dorico 5.1.50 update!

I have to admit that I cried when I saw how simple it was to notate the following and how beautifully Dorico rendered it:

Re: The End of FINALE

What will likely happen is some clever folk on the internet will crack Finale 27 so it doesn't require authorization, and Finale will live on on the dark web as shareware. It happens to other abandonware.

(EDIT: feel free to remove if talk of piracy is shunned, I'm not advocating it)

Re: Clarinet condensing standard

It probably depends on context and how active the parts are compared to one another. Clarinet 1 could be doing something in upper register while Clarinet 2 is doing something completely different in the chalumeau register.
