I think page 2, the most problematic in what you’ve included, is actually rather good/a good starting point, albeit you’re right that there needs to be more space between the systems. In Dorico in this case I’d start by reducing the amount of space between the dynamics and staff in Engraving Options...

In this case I like beaming to the hemiola. But you’re right that it can get out of hand. Definitely don’t beam over the barlines in cases where there are hemiolas over barlines. If they’re all over the place, as a performer I’d rather see “normal” beaming throughout, lest it become confusing or eve...
