Re: clef change problem for viola
A far as we know, viola was always written in alto clef. The only instrument written in alto clef, actually. According to the Neue Bach-Ausgabe, Bach uses the alto clef for alto oboes like Taille or Oboe da caccia. Interestingly he has both instruments in BWV 80 but in this case Taille is alto clef...

Re: I am really having problems with this slurs
Oh. I just realized that you put the first notes of the right hand in the lower staff and I put them in the upper one. I think that this might be easier to read and simplifies the S-shape slur solution because there is more space in the lower system. Edit: All solutions work also with less space bet...

Three more ideas. The last one needs a left hand indicator hook but I haven’t found out how to do that in MuseScore.

Re: divisi to non-divisi notation in strings
Oh, and now I looked at the first movement. The introduction is “getheilt zu drei gleichen Theilen” = “divided into three equal parts”. The main theme after the introduction starts “Alle unisono” = “tutti unisono”.

Re: divisi to non-divisi notation in strings
I just played Mahler’s 1st symphony. He writes very clearly what he wants (although in german): Bildschirmfoto vom 2023-09-19 18-03-00.png The cellos are “geth.” = “getheilt” = “divisi”, then in the second line only the “1te Hälfte” = “1st half” continues. At rehearsal mark 13 “Alle” play which simp...

Re: Specific chord voicings in a lead sheet
Just open the instruments panel on the left and drag the ossia staff with the mouse (see attached screen recording video).

Re: Musescore 4 video
It has always to stay free because the license doesn’t allow otherwise. The subscription instead fuels the professional development leading to the massive engraving improvements and better usability. However, that doesn’t invalidate your point about copyrighted music.

Re: Text layout page 1
To me it seems logical to place the composer name above the movement number because you’re not the composer of the first movement only, are you? (The FAE sonata should have Albert Dietrich below number I.)
Of course, many things are not strictly logical in music notation …
