Re: Staff and leger line thicknesses

how do you know if a font is OpenType? It looks like none of my fonts have anything in that "OpenType Features" box. It's always blank. Click the + sign at the bottom which will open up a menu where you can select any available OpenType features. The features will vary by font, but it wil...

Re: Staff and leger line thicknesses

A few more comments ... 1) In addition to the above comment about hairpins and bar numbers, The rehearsal number enclosures are too thin as well. Stems also seem really thin. 2) The just released Dorico 6.0.2 version now has an option to align the bar numbers and multibar rest bar number range that ...

Re: octave line question

I think I've posted my settings either here or on the Dorico forum, but here's what I get by default with my settings: slurs.png If I change the Maximum increase in height to avoid collisions setting to something larger, I can get something like this as a default here, but I seem to recall too much ...

Re: First engraving project with Dorico

Just a few quick general comments: Even with an elaborate title page, there typically is a larger title above the first system. Since you seem to be going for a Henle-inspired look, just look at how they handle it. nuages.png Having bar numbers larger than the page numbers throws off the proportion ...

Re: Authenticity in Music Editing. Does it exist?

John, if you haven't read it yet, I think you would enjoy James Grier's 1996 book "The Critical Editing of Music," which deals with many of these issues. (Not so much the performance practice aspect, but certainly the editing.) Used copies are generally pretty cheap, but it's on Archive.or...

Yep, eyeglasses typically mean to watch the conductor, not a page turn.

Interesting! Looks like MSS basically became SCORE. The parameter structure changed a bit from MSS to SCORE, but SCORE also held all the properties of any element in terms of "P values." Here are the first few parameters in SCORE 3.0.
