Re: Control Shape and Position of Windows on Mac

That's quite a story, David! Haven't had anything quite that dramatic happen, but we did lose the circuit board twice on the same TV due to thunderstorms. Came in through the cable connection even though the power was disconnected. So I also disconnect my computer from the ethernet internet connecti...

Re: Control Shape and Position of Windows on Mac

Thanks for the help, benwiggy and Neera, Sorry, I answered first over at the finale forum: "I have System Preferences>General>Close Windows when quitting an app unchecked, if that is the option you are referring to. When I shut down I check the box that says to reopen windows when logging back ...

Re: Piano pedal vertical alignment

Thank you so much for looking into that, Anders, and for your rest expressions. I do have Finale 27 unused, but I am transitioning out of Finale and still using Finale 25.5 only for projects that I am finishing up. I noticed that that glyph U+E4F4 was slightly off center when viewed within a Finale ...

Re: Bar numbering for repeats discussion

This is a quandary, isn't it? Arnstein used straight-through numbering for repeat endings 8, 9, 10, etc. because of the simplicity for rehearsal purposes. No way for the orchestra to be confused. So that is one function of measure numbering and a reasonable approach. However, measure numbers are als...

Re: Piano pedal vertical alignment

Yes, that is the adjustment I was referring to in m. 199, Anders. I think you are right about the short "stafflets" (ledger line) that Finale provides for the whole rests. But I guess I am stuck with that. It does look a little better in actual print. Maybe there is a solution that someone...

Control Shape and Position of Windows on Mac

Constantly setting up the windows every time I restart my Mac. I need a safe app that remembers the position of all the windows. Mac OS 12.6. Recommendations?

Re: Piano pedal vertical alignment

Yes, it is the the whole rest in 199 that needs attention. If you are seeing the "stafflet" of the whole rests on the staff (I don't), it may be an artifact of some kind. It is not visible in the printed copy. Here is a screen shot of the PDF at high magnification:

Re: Piano pedal vertical alignment

I really appreciate that, Anders. Thank you so much; it means a lot to me. I am trying to take the best of all eras rather than adhering to any particular convention while still avoiding anything that would create difficulties for a modern player.

I do see a whole rest that needs attention. :)

Re: Piano pedal vertical alignment

Because here they get the point across better than putting them below the staff?
