Sure, non-dotted coming right up from the same piece. Note how the slurs are shifted the most for the larger intervals and not much or at all for the smaller ones. From the Mikuli edition published by Schirmer. Of course, there is some inconsistency of the type that one always sees in hand engraving...

Looking across your A and B examples, as the slurs become increasingly vertical, they seem to lose their purpose, which is, after all, describing a horizontal connection between the notes. That is a good description of what happens with very large intervals, although I'm not sure that I agree with ...

Do you mean that the solo staves are omitted in the score whenever the soloists are playing with the section? And there are no individual solo parts? I wouldn't do that unless the soloists only play occasionally, which doesn't seem to be the case because you have all together at the top of the score...

Actually the 8va was used when the sign was new and composers were concerned about the symbol being understood. Then many publishers gradually eliminated the va as clutter mid-19th century after which the 8 alone became standard. Then the 8va was reintroduced in computer engraving programs. The 8vb ...

Checking against the original edition of K. 1 and 2, the note distribution between the staves is retained in the Gilbert, but much of the centered beaming is eliminated. Does the Fadini retain all the centered beaming?
