Re: Chaconne Ex — a SMuFL compatible music font

This font, curiously enough, reminds me a lot of the japan house publishers which provide those "stock compliations" shipped with keyboards and some such. Here's an example: https://truongnhac.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Richly-Arrange-Ghibli-Piano-Joe-Hisaishi.pdf There's a compactn...

Re: MTF re-release / Discussion of favourite "vintage" engraver music-fonts

The reason you like that flag is because it's a completely different font. That second example you gave is not the old style, but a SCORE notehead, flag, and flat. Dear Josh, I commend your keen eye, you’re absolutely right! I originally wanted to post an excerpt from my Lulu vocal score, but when ...

Re: MTF re-release / Discussion of favourite "vintage" engraver music-fonts

MTF-Cadence (Abraham Lee’s own design?) Isn’t that inspired by LilyPond’s default font Emmentaler? Emmentaler: Bildschirmfoto vom 2025-03-04 16-39-16.png Cadence: Bildschirmfoto vom 2025-03-04 16-39-32.png I remember Abraham talking about how there were *some* things about Emmentaler that he didn't...

Re: Measure numbers in parts in Dorico

Measure Numbers in Dorico are astoundingly simple, and can be adjusted easily to be at the same Y-height across a line, or not.

What do you have in mind?

This is great.

Happen to know rates and overhead cost? I imagine I need to order 50 or so at a time.

Where is the best place to get sheet music perfect bound or saddle stitched?

Hi folks,

I'm looking for a decent (online) place to send my PDF scores and receive prints up to or close to the standard of G Henle or Baerenreiter, or Schirmer.

What do you folks advise?

Re: Alternatives to Adobe Creative Cloud

Just to update this list, 2 years on: The Affinity suite of apps has addressed many of the shortcomings, particular those with importing PDFs. Inkscape is now much more user-friendly on the Mac: it's available as an application bundle, without any additional installations. For web editing, Pinegrow...
