Re: Single note tremolo stem length
Hi NeeraWM, thanks! ah yes I see it now. As I am not expert in that area, I can only imagine it is something to do with the screen displaying the font... My display resolution is 30-inch (2560 × 1600). When I print my PDF it looks fine, and it looks perfect when I zoom right in on my PDF, but yes I ...

Re: Single note tremolo stem length
Thanks for your reply NeeraWM. 1. That is a very good question. I was curious about that as well. The Finale tremolo symbol that I used is the default version. I would prefer the tremolo to sit/straddle more artistically. It might have something to do with my staff size % reduction (it's a reduced s...

Single note tremolo stem length
Hi everyone, After reading Gould p.222, I tried to improve on Exhibit A. Does Exhibit B look right? Any other improvements that I should make to Exhibit B? PS: The reason that the tie stops short of the note is because there are hidden playback notes (flutter tongue). I will delete the hidden notes ...

On the use of tablets and BT page turners
Hi all, I've noticed lately that more and more performers are putting parts on tablets and using bluetooth page turn pedals. My question is: Using a paper part, if a performer gets to the end of page 3 and sees Da Capo, they turn back a page and see page 1 again. To do that with a tablet (that shows...

Re: I need a flat symbol!
Thanks everyone! To a man on a galloping horse, the Broadway Copyist flat symbol actually looks not half bad when placed in close proximity to Impact font. I am thinking I could possibly get away with it. Screen Shot 2023-09-01 at 4.03.27 pm.png I've downloaded FontForge and I will attempt to tweak ...

I need a flat symbol!
Screen Shot 2023-08-31 at 4.32.11 pm.png Hi everyone, I design my title pages in a desktop publishing program, and I use a font called Impact. I really wish Impact font included a flat symbol, so that I could write B :f instead of B-flat. Any ideas? I will look into designing a :f symbol to match I...

Accidental question
Hi all,
I have a trill (C to C#) and I noticed that Finale has provided a natural sign afterwards. Is the natural sign necessary there, or is it better that it be removed? Cheerio and thanks,
Hector.

Re: Single slash on note stem
Upon looking at some scores, I see that most don't adopt the rule about a single tremolo stroke on a stem having to intersect a staff line. Also, I am seeing that Kurt Stone page 148 last paragraph appears to place a stroke in a space on occasion.
