Re: Finale 27.3 released

I so much need to get back to using Finale as well ... 15 years after last time ... it's like a primal calling! :-D

Re: Engraving Stenhammars Interlude from Cantata The Song (Sången)

I am wondering if all those brackets and braces are necessary or if they are the software default. I would get away with one of the two brackets and substitute braces with sub-brackets whenever possible. Consider placing the tempo marking "Molto adagio, solenne" flush left with the time signature, r...

Re: Starting and running publishing business

Thank you so much David. I am trying to cover as many territories as possible, and, also, it seems that I need to have multiple printers/distributors, or this will not work in the long run. Yes, I'm based in Italy, but I am reluctant to ask here about printing and distributing, as I know no Italian ...

Re: Starting and running publishing business

I have a sad news. Halstan came back to me saying they no longer offer the Print-on-Demand. Here's what they wrote: It has proven to be uneconomical for us and the customers in the long run. Due to the high manual effort for a single product, we would have had to increase prices to a level that no o...

Re: Scorico.net

I've launched a site, https://Scorico.net, dedicated to the sharing of Dorico-related resources... mostly scores , but other materials as well. straight from the horse's mouth. Sharing and selling meanings are different. I see only a sheet music shop for both scores and templates, now. Nothing agai...

Re: Scorico.net

When I first read about this I thought this was a project to share templates, playback presets & config files, resources, and I am convinced this was Dan's intent. So far, though, even educational resources have a price tag and the rest looks like an online sheet music shop. Not sure this is going i...

Re: Scorico.net

It doesn't seem to be live right now.
Clicking on the link keeps us on the forum.
Looking for Scorico.net on DDG doesn't return anything related.
Some issue?

Do you use ISMN?

How many of you publishing your scores and possibly printing and distributing them make use of ISMN? What is the advantage of using it and is it possible/advisable not to use it? From what I've read on the ISMN website, it is a way to keep track of published editions, but do they get uploaded to som...

Re: Where should a hairpin end?

I think David is right and that the correct answer is "it depends". If that's a timpani part, which would make this valid for any instrument unable to perform a gradual dynamic change over the length of a note, then the hairpin should stop at the right end of the notehead. On the other hand, if the ...
